If you are building a custom car or have recently moved to North Carolina with a vehicle that does not have a Certificate of Title, you will need to obtain an Indemnity/Title Bond.

To acquire this bond, the vehicle owner must complete forms provided by the North Carolina DMV. After submitting the forms, a representative from the North Carolina DMV License and Theft Bureau will inspect your vehicle. They will complete the report with a new Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and affix new VIN labels in the driver’s door jamb, under the hood, or on the frame.

At this point, the vehicle owner must also obtain two appraisals. The bond cost will be 1.5 times the vehicle's highest appraised value.

Two Indemnity/Title Appraisals & Requirements

You won't need to look for a second appraiser. Danny, along with another seasoned appraiser, will provide the two necessary appraisals. Two Appraisals $450.00

To obtain the needed appraisals, the vehicle owner must:

  • Have proof that the North Carolina DMV License and Theft Bureau officer will inspect your vehicle and that the new VIN labels are in the proper locations.

  • Provide all completed forms from the North Carolina DMV License and Theft Bureau, as well as the tall forms completed by the inspecting officer.

  • Provide photos of the vehicle and photos of the two VIN labels in place. (Photo Examples)

  • An appraisal fee is required when work begins.

Payment can be made by Cash, Check, PAYPAL or ZELLE
